The Gatehouse at Panteidal farm sleeps 4 guests plus travel cot/s (sleeps four)

The Gatehouse is a separate building at the entrance to the grounds, a short distance from the Farmhouse. It has a large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area with a high vaulted ceiling, two bedrooms, spa bathroom, and a utility room with a separate toilet.

The luxury fitted kitchen has Shaker style units and is equipped with an electric oven, halogen hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and a microwave.

The dining area has an oak table and four chairs, and the lounge has a pebble flame effect electric fire, two luxurious leather sofas, a large TV, DVD player, and CD player.

The downstairs bathroom is fully tiled and has a spa bath with shower over, toilet, washbasin, and mirrored cabinet.

There is a further toilet and hand basin in the utility room next to the bathroom that incorporates a washer/dryer.

The main bedroom is off the lounge and has a very comfortable double leather “sleigh” bed, bedside tables with lamps, a wardrobe, and a dressing table with mirror.

The second bedroom, known as “The Captain’s Room” as it has porthole windows, has two twin beds that can be zipped together to make a king-size bed upon request. There are two glass-fronted hanging cupboards, a chest of drawers with mirror and a bedside table. This is a very bright, sunny room as it has three velux windows, all with black-out blinds.

The Panteidal properties are set within 4 acres of grounds, comprising well established gardens with tropical plants and private woodland. There is a short circular walk in the woodland although most of the wood is on a steep hillside and can be challenging.

Please note that although the Farmhouse has a private garden that is very secure and child and dog 'safe', the garden shared with the Gatehouse has two ornamental ponds where children must be supervised.

Panteidal Farm provides the ideal retreat to get away from it all but it also provides the perfect base for the full range of outdoor activities available locally. In addition to the beach and water sport activities, such as sailing, yachting, rowing, canoeing and fishing, there is a championship golf course in Aberdovey and all manner of inland activities such as walking, hiking, cycling and climbing and many more associated with Snowdonia National Park.

When booking a relaxing rural retreat at Panteidal Farm you will also have temporary membership of the Plas Talgarth Leisure Resort, just two miles down the road towards Pennal, where you can enjoy an indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, spa, Jacuzzi, gym and a whole host of other leisure activities for a small additional charge. Please note this is a limited membership and large parties will have to arrange additional memberships with us to use this facility. www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/resorts/plas-talgarth

A discounted rate can be arranged if you wish to book the Farmhouse and Gatehouse together.

A taxi service from Aberdyfi operates two 8-seater minibuses. The fare each way is currently £9.50 per minibus each way.

For those interested in the local wildlife and birds we can arrange guided day trips with local naturalist Bob Relph, who will collect you from your apartment and take you for a days guided birdwatching. See our enquiries page and go to the links which will take you to Bob’s website.

Dyfi Osprey project. A pair of Ospreys nested on the estuary near Dyfi junction again this summer and reared three chicks. The ospreys have now all left for warmer climes but we’re hoping some, if not all, will return next Spring. The chicks have all been micro-chipped so are being constantly tracked.

We would strongly recommend the Riverside Inn at Pennal. This is owned by Glyn, who used to manage the Penhelig Arms in Aberdovey, and his wife, Corina. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the food is really excellent. It is also very popular so it is wise to make a reservation in advance. www.riversidehotel-pannal.co.uk
